Over the past 25 years CAMRA BC has gone from a small group of concerned citizens in Victoria to a province wide society actively engaged in public education regarding craft beer in BC. I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the society to thank you for your investment in our growth through your Corporate Membership.
In recent years CAMRA BC has increased its profile as political advocate on behalf of the consumer. Our future promises to continue on that path as well as increasing actions designed to highlight the consumer’s rights of access to fair treatment in all respects.
We have reached a point where it is necessary to delineate clearly our mandate as consumer advocate. To that end, to avoid any appearance of conflict with that mandate, CAMRA BC has reluctantly decided to phase out the Corporate Membership category beginning January 1, 2014.
This in no way reflects upon negatively on our attitude towards the Craft Brewing Industry but rather it is the logical next step for growth in our relationship. We will still actively engage the commercial community in a positive and productive dialogue with the common goal of serving the consumers of craft beer in the Province of BC. You are welcome, even encouraged to join CAMRA BC as private citizens of the province.
Thank you again for your recognition of CAMRA BC and support through the Corporate Membership program. We could not have come this far without it.
If you have questions in this regard please contact the president of your local CAMRA BC branch or any member of the CAMRA BC executive.
